  • Photo of Peter Javorkai, the founder of remixmonsta

Hi I’m Peter Javorkai the founder of remixmonsta. I’ve spent my university years relentlessly organizing underground electronic music parties, but after a time it was quite hard to find new and fresh talents with the limited resources online.

Sometimes I’ve spent days of searching on Soundcloud to get the latest hot remixes, so that’s how I came to the idea to have a dedictated site for these great beats. I hope you like it!

    Wassup with - DRVMRBOY

This week DRVMRBOY is our guest on the remixmonsta blog. We mainly sat down for an interview on the purpose of his [latest remix of Dan and Shay](https://remixmonsta.com/blogarticles/70-dan-and-shay-tequila-drvmrboy-remix) we published this week, but we hit more generic questions along the way about his career.

###When did you start making music? What was your main motivation?

I started producing music in 2011. Prior to that I played drums in the school band and in a small band as a hobby with a couple of my friends, so I would say I've always had a passion for music and art in general. I couldn't point to a specific motivation. My dad is who introduced me to producing when we moved to a new town. I didn't have any friends yet and it was summertime so I didn't start school yet either. I pretty much fell in love with it instantly and I haven't stopped learning and working on my craft since. It also opened me up to a whole new world of digital art and using a computer to create anything you want. Before that I always loved to draw and create things with my hands.

###What software and tools are you using to create your songs? Which part do you enjoy the most during the creation process?

I started with Fruity Loops 9 and haven't switched DAW's since. Currently I'm using FL20. I don't really use any external hardware, I kind of enjoy the challenge of drawing out an entire record with a keyboard and mouse. I do plan on picking up guitar soon though, I feel like it will help me with music theory and I've always wanted to learn. I think my favorite part of the creation process is laying out the track after I have the guts of it done. I love playing it over and over again in my DAW finding little samples and sounds I can add in various parts to spice it up. My songs always change drastically from my initial layout to the final product.

###Is there something currently in the making? Can you tell us more about it?

There's actually a lot in the making right now. Some of it is still confidential just do to the fact that my team and I are still working out details, but I do have a brand I am getting ready to launch called The Counter Culture Creative. We're dabbling in everything from film/music video production to fashion and music. Aside from music production I love to film, edit and I do all of my own graphic design. I'm still building the framework for the brand but I plan on launching it very soon!

###What are you future plans in let's say 3-5 years ahead?

My future plans are really just to keep making music and build my brand. In 3-5 years I see Counter Culture hopefully coming into some success and hopefully I wont have to work a real job by then! I've never been the 9 to 5 type and with the the launch of this brand I really plan to work hard and get myself to the point where I am my own boss and I can live off of my art. At this point in my life I am ready to do pretty much whatever it takes to get myself to where I want to be.
